History of Our Church

KING COWBOY CHURCH ROOTS:

After a weekend in the country, with several local chapters of Cowboys For Christ, a seed was planted in our hearts for lost Cowboys and Cowgirls in the Piedmont, Foothills, and surrounding areas. After much prayer and phenominal support of fellow friends and neighbors, the King Cowboy Church had its first fellowship and church service together on July 10, 2004. We had over 120 people present for hot dogs, pony rides, gospel singing, and an awesome word from Jeff Smith, the planter of Cowboy Churches all over the world.

The core group decided to hold our fellowships on Thursday evening and we've been growing strong since then. To date, God has blessed us with a dedicated, God-seeking pastor and individuals to host leadership teams, Bible studies, trail rides, baptisms, and monthly fellowships.

The King Cowboy church is seeing lives changed through the power of God's Word and love and we truly give Jesus Christ all the glory for what is happening in our church through Cowboys and cowgirls.

MAJOR NEW STEP IN LIFE OF THE CHURCH HAPPENED

On Thursday, November 9, 2006, the church made a major step in church life. The church under the direction of the Lord and the Leadership Team, moved to accepting members. On this special night, the church began accepting members into this new congregation. There was a sense of excitement and the church was filled with guest and attendees. The Lord is being glorified through what He is doing in the lives of the new members of the church.

CHRUCH EXPANDS MINISTRY INFLUENCE

In 2007, the outreach/ministry of the church has started expanding into Forsyth, Stokes, Yadkin, and Surry counties. King, North Carolina is located in the center of all these places. For this reason, Cowboy Church Meeting in King has also developed Church on the Trail. This small group is very mobile and meets in different homes/barns in these four counties.
